My thoughts:
The conditioner is a thick, brown, iridescent cream that comes in a tube. I purchased it because I was looking for a conditioner to thicken my hair as I feel like it isn’t as thick as it used to be and, as this is supposed to help make hair seem more dense, I wanted to try it. I read the reviews that talked about the old lady perfume smell but the end of the tube was sealed and I couldn’t smell it in the store. Unfortunately I chose to purchase this anyway, even though overpowering smells are a bad idea for me. This was pure stupidity on my part because the conditioner did give me a headache! I powered through and used it anyway and the effect of the smell did decrease over time but it’s still so strong that, even if I were to love the effects of this product, I wouldn’t repurchase. As I was typing out the ingredients I noticed that fragrance is number 4 on the list and it shows.
In addition to the overpowering fragrance, I found this conditioner irritating to my dry scalp. The instructions say to use this on your scalp, and the website assures you this is okay, but it gives me flakes in my hair when I use it this way. I’m not sure if it was from product buildup or dandruff from irritation, but when I was leaving the cream on my scalp it happened. I was determined to make this work and use up the whole bottle so I wound up using it only to the ends of my hair, never past my ears, and it was okay. I’ll admit that my scalp is pretty finicky so perhaps most people won’t have this problem. For me it’s a pretty big issue.
The other thing is that this conditioner doesn’t help my long hair become smoother, shinier, or thicker which are all things I want from my conditioner.
Grade: C
Repurchase:
Overall I found this product just okay and won’t repurchase it.
Where to purchase:
I purchased this at Ulta for $17.99 {it was on a buy one get one 50% off sale so it was about $13.50 with that discount}
